Walks, Talks and Workshops

Sharing is an important part of Petra’s ethos as an artist. This may be an outdoor poetry performance in which the song of a blackbird or the drone of the sea merge with spoken word. But she also facilitates poetry talks, workshops and other participatory activities. Characteristic for all her events is an intimate and informal atmosphere in which sharing often leads to a dialogue with, and between, participants. If you’re interested in commissioning an activity and would like to discuss opportunities, please contact Petra at petravergunst [at] hotmail [dot] com.

Writing Our World
In this poetry workshop for the Mearns Writers in Stonehaven, participants are invited to reflect on the way they write about the natural environment. Against the background of the work by Kathleen Jamie and her own poem Embrace, Petra  will present different approaches to environmental writing through hands-on poetry writing exercises.
